M3
MIDI Bass Package
In
order to provide the guitarist and bassist with a means of accessing
the new technology of
computers, samplers, keyboards and any other device capable of receiving
MIDI data,
a new system has been designed.
The
vast experience of JOHN BIRCH as a pickup designer and respected guitar
builder,
and the brilliant technical skills of FOREFRONT TECHNOLOGY
have combined to produce a very fast and flexible system
Each
pickup contains an audio output, and individual string outputs for
driving the M3 Processor.
The use of these specially designed pickups in place of conventional
types means that the
guitar or bass has no unsightly surface-mounted cables to catch whilst
playing.
The output is on a locking multi-pin socket mounted on the side edge
of the guitar.

The
M3 Guitar-to-MIDI Processor is a 1U rack unit with a choice of one
or two foot controllers.
The unit has the ability to program each string individually, and
has 64 patches to store and recall settings.

The front panel LCD display shows the status of settings, and 6 LEDs
show each string when playing.
Four
panel switches allow selection of all setups, and the unit can also
be edited by remote using a
hand-held ForeFront Technology FT3 Patch Commander, or by using the
PC Windows patch editor program.
